Water Harvesting
On the 9th of November 2021, Paul Totterdell started the earthworks for the Watson Micro-forest. The water harvesting plans were drawn out on the site and Paul got to work digging out the trenches. Watch the video to hear from Paul talk about the design, plan and how the water trenches work.
Why is water harvesting important?
Our climate is getting hotter and drier and we will ensure the plants are watered during the establishment period. But after that they are pretty much on their own.
Water harvesting sculpts the landscape to capture water that falls on site and directs it to the plants roots where it needs it most.
